So You Think You Can Braid Faster than Your Sister?

For some reason, Sundays are kind of lazy days for us all of the sudden. We've decided to take a month off of our normal Sunday dinner routine, and in the process have found that it's really not all that bad to have nothin' to do.

So yesterday, when the girls were asking for something to do, I of course brought out the old standby: "So You Think You Can Braid Faster than Your Sister?"

It's a simple game--definitely worth a good 3 minutes of fun. LOL!

Materials:

* 1 thing of yarn (yarn probably has a name for the container it's in--or the way it's bundled?)
* scissors
* 2 chairs
* ruler
* time keeper of sort
* laura ingels and nelly olsen

Set-Up:

1. For two players, cut 6 strings of equal length.
2. Tie three strings to each chair.
3. Use the ruler to confirm that each chair/person has the same length of yarn.

Game-Play:

1. Sit each player behind a chair.
2. Say "go."
3. First one done braiding reigns champion!

PS: Survivor Update--the casting person emailed me Friday to say that they had "their big pitch" on Friday morning. I haven't heard anything yet...and don't really expect to. Not trying to be a nay-sayer, but she said the competition was really "fierce" this year. (I was cracking myself up--isn't this like season 2,139 of Survivor? You mean more people than just me applied?). Say a prayer for me--that either way I'll be good with it. 8)
