So, at the risk of sounding lame, I wanted to tell the family that I auditioned for Survivor (again) a few weeks ago. Honestly, I think about auditioning every year I see the casting calls--ever since I was 3o (last audition). And, when I learned they were going to be in Utah doing the casting calls, just 3 miles from our home, I felt like the stars may be lining up for me to go ahead and audition. (At least put the dream to rest, yanno? No, Dawn--we really don't want you on the show. 2 auditions is enough!)
I hadn't thought about Survivor much since the audition.
But last night the casting director called! She didn't say anything about advancing to the next round--she can choose to take you through the process OR move you where she'd like you in the process. Basically, we just talked for about 25 minutes--about the show, why I applied, our kids, Dave, how we met, what kind of player I would be, etc.
And then, it happened. She said, "I really like you, but you are much prettier on video than in your photo."
Oh, that hurts. And, brings back memories of the dam# wedding engagement photo!
What the heck? Why must I go through life with this photography curse? (This blasted face! LOL.)
The good news is, the photo she was referring to was one I took while driving to the casting call. You see, I didn't know you had to have a photo. I just brought my passport and the application (and planned to be taped). So, I had to take the photo of myself in the car--at close range. Not too flattering, I'm sure. But, it wasn't horrible either. Sheesh!
So, she's asked me to email her a full length photo nude (Just kidding! Just seeing if you're reading). And, she said she'd like a video of me teaching, with our kids, and at home.
All by Friday.
So, if any of you own a VHS video camera, talk to me.
In other news, the garden is growing! (We haven't killed anything but the broccoli. Yay!)
