I know it's going to be fun for him.
I know he's sincerely dying to get there.
But, we're really going to miss him.
Jonah makes me laugh so hard. He is witty and clever. He fixes everything for me (and some of those custom installs come at a pretty price). . . and I could go on fo-eva.
I guess it's really just that this vacation seems a little different than others.
Jonah's 13, almost 14, and seeming so much more grown up: 1) He didn't need me to pack for him. 2.) He made a list of what he needed us to get at the store for extras/snacks/etc. 3.) He can fly solo . . .
He's just really getting older and becoming his own person. (Ugh. It's exciting, yes! But, also kind of hard to believe.)
We're going to miss you, J. Be sure to email or phone. Be safe and take lots of photos. Love you.
In other news:
Photos are a real hodge-podge (spell?) for me lately.
Today as I was downloading them, I about died laughing. There are the garden photos, photos of the Aloo Gobi I continue to make (I'm still on the Indian thing), and some of the kids. But also a whole slew of Barbie and Friends photos. The girls are cracking me up. Apparently the Olympics have motivated Barbie and Friends to do some tumbling.
That's a riot.

Jonah and Harriet.
