Thanks to Dave and the kids, I was able to fly down to California this weekend and literally SURPRISE my mom by showing up at her work for her birthday! It was so much fun to fly down (first time in almost 2 years) and spend time with everyone. And, it was extra fun to see the look on my mom (and family's) faces when I walked into her shop Saturday!

I almost didn't know what to do with myself in California without Dave and the kids, but the Cali family sure does know how to have fun! I had a great visit with Jamie and Gabe, Swedish pancakes made by cousin Daniel, great dinner and yogurt in Chino Hills with the Hills, saw some friends at dinner one night, had a pedicure, ate dinner at Panda Inn, slept like Goldilocks in a variety of other people's beds (thanks baby Dane), went shopping, got my hair cut, and even went to Knott's Berry Farm.
One of the highlights of the trip was spending time with Kate and Dane. Kate is talking a ton, and Dane is huge. Kate is hilarious--when you ask her who she likes she says, "Cinderella and High School Muscial." It ends up sounding like "lalalalala and skullmoosical."
