Birthdays, Injuries, and Summertime!

BIRTHDAYS

Happy Birthday, Dane. I love you! You are my favorite brother!

And now, in honor of your birthday, a bday acrostic:

Dangerous (that's a BMX-days reference)
Amazing Uncle (you always spend time with the kids and do amazing things--skatepark!)
Not an onion fan
Every time I'm with you, you make me laugh SO hard (you have the BEST humor)

INJURIES

For those of you keeping score at home:

1. One dog bite.
2. One tissue-damaged knee (thanks to BMX trick-riding).
3. One ruptured eardrum.
4. One braces-induced canker sore the size of Texas.
5. One dog with pinkeye.

* I'm not complain', I'm just sayin'!

Summertime

We are soooooooooooooo happy it's summer. Not sure we had a spring, but we'll take what we can get! Woo hoo!

Here are our three of our ideas for summertime fun (see injury list and tell me if we need our head's examined):

1. Get a trampoline (and let the kids earn half the money for it--awesome idea!).

2. Try Pringles new "summertime" flavors: DILL PICKLE and KETCHUP. Woo hoo!

3. Make Kindra's baked french toast. Now that's tasty!

Kindra's Baked French Toast

1 loaf French bread
4 eggs
3 Tbs sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2.5 cups milk
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup butter
2 cups blueberries (opt)

Night Before:
1. Grease (well) a 9x13 pan. Cut bread into cubes about 1 inch thick. Put in pan evenly.
2. Put in pan evenly.
3. In a bowl, beat eggs, vanilla, sugar, and milk until well blended.
4. Pour over bread, making sure it is coated well. (You can press down on the bread to make sure all of the bread is saturated with egg.)
5. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Morning to Be Served:
1. Preheat oven to 375.
2. Combine flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
3. Cut in butter (make a crumb mixture).
4. Sprinkle crumb mixture over top of bread/mixture.
5. Bake 40 minutes until golden brown.

Serve with berries, syrup, and whipcream (optional).
