1. Jonah's going to be home soon! He flies on Sunday and Dave gets him late that night. He should be home by Monday! Wahoo! Here's a photo Mary sent me yesterday of him holding 2 Flounders. (No wonder "Flounder" in the Little Mermaid is yellow and blue--these fish are ugly in real life. Eeek!)

2. I start teaching a class on Tuesday. Only one this semester. Wahooooo!
3. There's a chill in the air this morning--like Fall is around the corner. (The pool and lake officially close on Tuesday. We are so sad. Seems a little early.)
4. Kaya has found a new way to carry the laundry upstairs:

5. It's official. I'm addicted to this "popcorn"--or "puffcorn" is what I like to call it--that comes in both Kettle Pop and "regular" flavors. I blame Mary for this addiction. Our kids were playing at her house and she had some there. Then, the next time we were at the store, Camry said, "oh, we have to get this mom." With a pricetag of $4.00 for the bag, I was thinking, "can't we get something a little less expensive in the NO NUTRITIONAL VALUE category?" But, I obliged. That was LAST Friday. Since then, I've bought 4 bags of the stuff. Like, I may clear out the shelf at Harmon's.

6. Heather (previous posts = the actress next door) left a present on my doorstep late Thursday night: a Cookie Lee Halloween charm bracelet. I am so loving it. I'm seriously going to wear it from now straight through October 31. It's so dang cute. Thanks, Heather!
7. Dave brought me/us home flowers last night. Sunflowers--FAVORITE. I like getting flowers because the girls love them as much as I do, so there's this extra excitement around them!

8. I don't know why, but I'm seriously angry with McCain's VP selection. Like outraged. It feels so calculated--to put forward a woman to compete on that "historic" front issue with the Democrats. Regardless of your party affiliation, I don't know how you can support this person as a possible commander in chief. Just two short years ago, she was the mayor of a town with 9K residents. That's like the size of Dave's High School in LA. Are you kidding me? We're going to send her to North Korea to talk about nuclear war proliferation? I'm dying! (And, that's not even considering the fact that she has a 5 month old right now. Could she really be the next President--in the event that McCain dies mid-term--which is highly likely. The man is 73. That's 3 years older than my grandma when she died. Ugh!) I'm all about equal rights, but I don't know that I want my President to have a crib in the oval office. Won't that somewhat distract her from the job at hand? Ugh. Enough ranting.
9. I learned that a couple formerly from our Provo ward was in a plane (small) crash mid-August. They were in Mesa, AZ. The pilot passed away, but the husband and wife have survived. It was a terrible accident, and they are in a burn unit in AZ. They have 4 sweet children (4 under age 6). It's been so sobering to think about what they are going through, what their families are going through, how their kids are managing, and how they will recover from this. It's so serious and so scary. Please pray for them.
Here are two blogs, Stephanie's--and her sister's. Stephanie's blog is pre-accident. Her sister's give updates since. The internet is incredible--there has been an outpouring of support from neigbors, friends, family, and the internet world:

10. Life is so precious and valuable, I need to appreciate and enjoy every minute. (And not worry about John McCain's running mate, Ms. Alaska. Ugh!)
