We're now 6 months into 2008 and I've been working on my resolutions for a good amount of time.
It's funny how you think setting a goal is about achieving the goal (Saving $200.00 in a secret part of your wallet. Being a better listener.).
At least, I used to think that.
But as I sit down this morning to measure how far I've come--and how far I have to go--I realize that the benefit of setting goals is that goal setting improves your NOW.
I've learned so much this year as I've worked toward certain goals. Everything I've learned has improved my now.
Sure, I'd like to see the end goal eventually.
But really, the benefit of goal setting is that the efforts you make (reading, applying, being humble) improve your life in ways you never really expected.
Truth be told, the only time that really matters in our lives is now. This moment.
